In their last set, the Marlins took on the Minnesota Twins. Miami won 4-1 in the opener, then on Wednesday lost 8-3. In the finale, the Marlins posted three runs in the top of the 13th inning during a marathon 8-6 win. Starter Valente Bellozo put up 5.0 innings with one earned run.

In the starting pitcher role, Friday Miami is going with Adam Oller. So far Oller is 1-4 with a 5.06 ERA in seven starts. Over 35 career games (22 starts) Oller is 4-13 with a 6.51 ERA.

Over on the Jays’ side, they’re coming off a series versus the Boston Red Sox. Toronto lost the first two games 4-1 and 6-5. In the finale Wednesday the Blue Jays powered out a 6-1 victory with 11 team hits. Kevin Gausman lasted 6.0 innings with one earned run in the win.

As starter Friday it’ll be Jose Berrios. In 2024 Berrios is 16-10 with a 3.38 ERA in 31 starts. Over his career, Berrios is 99-76 with a 4.04 ERA in 243 games (242 starts).

Miami Marlins vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’m going with the Jays. Berrios is doing pretty well over his last trio. In that time he’s 2-1 with just three earned runs over 19.0 combined innings on 13 hits and four walks. If Berrios can keep it going he’ll be good for a quality start Friday at least.

The Jays have scored pretty well lately with three or more runs in three of their last four games and 11 combined runs in their last pair. Toronto also gave up a combined 10 runs during the first two installments of the Red Sox series though, so the pen needs to be on point Friday as well.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -175
