It’s essentially a pencilled-in victory for the Deacons; the only question is the margin on the scoreboard. Wake is coming off an absolute rout of Virginia, holding the Cavs to just 1-of-12 on third downs and 26:17 in time of possession. The Deacons gained 28 first downs and 538 yards on offense, which included 309 yards rushing. That makes five straight victories and 38 or more points scored in four straight.
As for Merrimack, they had a little trouble putting away a plucky one-win Wagner team on Saturday.
