South Alabama was outscored 34-33 the rest of the way but held on for the win in the end 69-67. Leading the team in scoring was Chaze Harris with 15 points, six assists and four rebounds. Adam Olsen doubled up on 10 points with 11 rebounds in the victory as well.
App State Mountaineers Betting Preview
Over on the App State side, they came out of the gate limping on a 4-5 overall run in their first nine outings. The Mountaineers are 11-4 in their last 15 games, taking wins over Virginia-Lynchburg, East Carolina, High Point, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion, Georgia State, James Madison, Louisiana, LA-Monroe, Southern Miss and Troy. That makes for a 15-9 run through 24 games thus far.
In the Troy matchup on Saturday the Mountaineers were leaving the floor in the first half with a 12-point edge 36-24. Appalachian State kept it up in the second half with a 30-20 run and took the victory in the end 66-44. Leading the team in scoring was Kasen Jennings with 33 points and three rebounds. Alonzo Dodd added a nice line on 11 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in 36 minutes.

South Alabama vs App State Prediction
I’m going to lean toward App State but this one’s a coin flip. The Mountaineers dispatched a pretty good Troy team on the road this past weekend, thanks to a 32-26 rebounding edge and just 32.7 percent shooting allowed from the field. App State did get outmuscled in the paint 26-16 and only got to the line eight times (making seven), however. Still, the Mountaineers are looking good these days on a four-game win streak, giving up fewer than 64 points in each of those victories.
As for South Alabama, they survived a pesky Georgia State team in a home matchup over the weekend thanks to a nice 51.9 percent shooting from the field. The Jags had a 50-12 edge on points in the paint but just 18.8 percent (3-of-16) from outside and 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) at the line. South Alabama can compete very well here if they can tweak a few things, though.
