After that it was a 2-2 run with losses to UC San Diego and Cal State Fullerton alongside wins over Long Beach State and UC Riverside, giving the Aggies a 17-11 overall record.
Matched up against UC Riverside on Saturday the Aggies went into the locker room with a 37-31 edge. I’m going to take a stab on Hawaii. The Warriors were able to power past UCSB at Stan Sheriff in their last game, thanks to a 36-26 advantage in the paint and just nine turnovers. Hawaii shot 43.1 percent from the field and got out-rebounded 35-31 along the way. The Warriors needed the overtime win after losing to CSUN and Cal Poly in the previous pair, giving up a combined 170 points along the way.
Way back on December 4 when these teams last saw each other, the Warriors took a 75-69 victory at home. Hawaii shot very well in that one (54.3 percent) and had a 31-28 rebounding edge. That said, the Warriors also hit just 58.1 percent (18-of-31) from the line and had 15 turnovers. Hawaii will have a few things to clean up before the road rematch.
