The Minnesota Lynx and the Phoenix Mercury meet Wednesday in WNBA action from the PHX Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury prediction.

Matchup History

The Minnesota Lynx won both meetings so far this season, first in Phoenix on May 30th, 2025, by a final score of 74-71, before an 88-65 win at home on June 3rd, 2025. The win for the Lynx made it six straight wins for Minnesota in this head-to-head matchup.

Minnesota Lynx Recap

The Minnesota Lynx come into this game looking to build on their 80-75 win over the Chicago Sky last time out to sit at 17-2 on the year. After this game, the Lynx will head on the road once again for a game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Lynx Win Three In A Row

Napheesa Collier leads the Lynx in scoring with 24.3 PPG along with 8 RPG and 3.3 APG while Courtney Williams has added 13.5 PPG with 4.8 RPG and a team-high 5.9 APG to lead the Lynx in the assist department. Kayla McBride’s logged 14.9 PPG and 3.5 APG and Alanna Smith’s added 10.1 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 2.9 APG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Minnesota up to this point in the season. Natisha Hiedeman has 7.4 PPG with 3.2 APG so far this season. As a team, Minnesota is averaging 85.2 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field, 35.6% from three and 79.9% from the foul line this season.

Phoenix Mercury Recap

The Phoenix Mercury come into this game looking to add on to their 102-72 win over Dallas last time out to sit at 13-6 on the year. After this game, the Mercury will head on the road for a game against the Golden State Valkyries.

Mercury Snap Two-Game Losing Streak

Satou Sabally leads the Mercury in scoring with 19.1 PPG along with 7.7 RPG, 2.6 APG and 1.4 SPG while Alyssa Thomas has 14.4 PPG with 7.5 RPG and 9.8 APG and Kahleah Copper has 16.7 PPG. Sami Whitcomb also has 11.1 PPG with 3.5 RPG and 2.3 APG to cap off the double-digit scorers for Phoenix so far this season. Lexi Held’s added 8.7 PPG while Monique Akoa Makani has 8.3 PPG. Kitija Laksa has 8.7 PPG as well on the year. As a team, Phoenix is averaging 84.8 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field, 35.3% from three-point range and 78.5% from the foul line so far this season.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury Prediction

I’m on the Lynx in this one. I get the case to be made for the Mercury as a home underdog, but Phoenix is still living life without Satou Sabally and Kahleah Copper right now. You can get away without them against the Dallas Wings who have been a liability defensively for much of the season, and the emergence of Sami Whitcomb is a big deal for Phoenix, especially when we get down the road. However, right now, Minnesota is the best team in the WNBA and I just think they add another name to their hit list. Give me the Lynx laying the points here.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Minnesota -7
