Dream vs Lynx Prediction - WNBA Picks 5/23/23

The Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at the Target Center.

There are a lot of questions surrounding this Atlanta Dream team and the first game didn’t do them many favors. Against the Dallas Wings the defense was awful giving up 85 points and that led to the seven point defeat. They only scored 12 points in the second quarter, and they couldn’t bounce back. Rhyne Howard was the top player for the Dream finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. There were four different players that finished with at least 10 points. The Dream like to push the pace but the defense is going to need to be better. If the defense is bad in this game, they are going to lose, and they might lose this game big.

On the other side of this matchup is the Lynx who opened up the season with a loss at the hands of the Chicago Sky. The offense only scored 66 points and that was the difference as they were defeated by 11 points. Naphessa Collier was the only real bright spot finishing with 17 points, five rebounds and two assists. Kayla McBride also finished with 12 points and five rebounds. In this game if the Lynx want to secure the victory they are going to need to find a way to get the offense going here.  Collier is the best player on this team, but they are going to need a more balanced attack. If they are only have two players a night scoring in double figures, this is going to be a very long season.
