The Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The Phoenix Mercury look for a win after splitting their last 6 games. The Indiana Fever need a win after losing 10 of their last 12 games.
The Phoenix Mercury are averaging 80.9 points on 43.4 percent shooting and allowing 86.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting. Skylar Diggins-Smith is averaging 19.2 points and 3.9 rebounds, while Diana Taurasi is averaging 16.4 points and 2.6 rebounds. Tina Charles is the third double-digit scorer and Diamond DeShields is dishing 2.3 assists. The Phoenix Mercury are shooting 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 79.2 percent from the free throw line. The Phoenix Mercury are allowing 37.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.4 rebounds per game.
The Indiana Fever are averaging 79.8 points on 40.5 percent shooting and allowing 88.1 points on 46.7 percent shooting. Kelsey Mitchell is averaging 18.8 points and 3.9 assists, while NaLyssa Smith is averaging 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds. Victoria Vivians is the third double-digit scorer and Danielle Robinson is grabbing 3.5 rebounds. The Indiana Fever are shooting 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 76.5 percent from the free throw line. The Indiana Fever are allowing 35.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34 rebounds per game.
The Mercury are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Fever are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The under is 7-3 in Mercury last 10 road games. The under is 5-1 in Fever last 6 overall. The Mercury are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Indiana and 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings.
The Phoenix Mercury have yet to play to their full potential, and it doesn't help that they're on the end of a back to back here. Third straight road game and second straight game overall, we could easily see the Mercury fall flat on their face. With that said, the Indiana Fever are one of the worst teams in the league, they can't score consistently, and they've won back-to-back games just once this season. I'm not ready to give up on the Mercury, given the talent and experience on the roster. In a near pick em spot, I'll still side with the Mercury.
