The Chicago Sky and Seattle Storm meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the Climate Pledge Arena. The Chicago Sky look to build on their 2-1 start. The Seattle Storm look to snap a three-game losing streak.
The Chicago Sky are averaging 85.3 points on 45.9 percent shooting and allowing 75.3 points on 44 percent shooting. Dana Evans is averaging 14.7 points and 2.7 assists, while Candace Parker is averaging 14.3 points and 6 rebounds. Emma Meesseman is the third double-digit scorer and Rebekah Gardner is grabbing 4.5 rebounds. The Chicago Sky are shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 85.4 percent from the free throw line. The Chicago Sky are allowing 30 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.7 rebounds per game.
The Seattle Storm are averaging 78 points on 39 percent shooting and allowing 81.3 points on 44.2 percent shooting. Jewell Loyd is averaging 22 points and 3.5 rebounds, while Breanna Stewart is averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds. Epiphanny Prince is the third double-digit scorer and Ezi Magbegor is grabbing 6.3 rebounds. The Seattle Storm are shooting 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent from the free throw line. The Seattle Storm are allowing 38 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 31.8 rebounds per game.
It's tough to cap this game because there's no line and there's no telling who is going to play for the Seattle Storm because of COVID-19 issues. Breanna Stewart is questionable for this contest, and that makes me assume she's not going to play until she's cleared for good. As long as those question marks remain in place for the Seattle Storm, I have to lean toward the Sky. The Storm are on the struggle bus right now, mainly offensively, and things won't improve until they get their star back. Assuming Stewart doesn't play, give me the Sky in a victory and cover over the projected line.
