The Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream face off on Tuesday in a first-round playoff game. This is a single-elimination game with the winner moving on and the loser going home.
These two squads have faced off twice so far inside the bubble with each team winning one of the games. Just two games ago, Atlanta beat Chicago 97-89.
The Chicago Sky found a lot of success inside the bubble, but as of late they have struggled a bit more and coming into this one they have lost three of the last four games. The one win during that stretch for the Sky did come in their last game. In that game, the Sky’s offense put up 95 points while the defense gave up 88 points and that led to the victory. Center Cheyenne Parker was the best player in the last game putting up 23 points and seven rebounds. On the season the Sky are averaging 86.7 points per game while the defense is giving up 84.1 points per game. The best offensive player this season for the Sky has been Allie Quigley who is averaging 15.4 points while shooting 44.8 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Dream who are coming off a loss, but before that they had won four of their five games. In the Dream’s last game, the offense wasn’t great scoring only 78 points and that led to a defeat. On the season the Dream are averaging 81.0 points per game while the defense is giving up 87.6 points per game. The Dream are shooting 44.2 points per game while giving up 45.7 points per game.
Atlanta is playing the better basketball right now and there is no reason to believe they won’t find success in this game. Look for their offense to run up the score again and the Sky won’t keep up. Back Dream to win this game and cover the spread.
