The Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever face off in their 23rd game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Saturday.
The Minnesota Lynx have found success inside the bubble but coming into this game they have lost three games in a row. The defense has really struggled the last three games and in the last game they gave up 104 points to the Las Vegas Aces. The Lynx come into this game averaging 83.8 points per game while the defense is giving up 80.3 points per game. The Lynx are shooting 45.2 percent from the field while the defense is giving up 44.6 percent from the field. The Lynx are still without Sylvia Fowles and the last couple of games that has hurt them. Rookie Crystal Dangerfield has been the best player for the Lynx averaging 16.2 points while shooting 45.2 percent from the field. In this game if the Lynx want to step up and win the defense is going to need to be better.
On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Fever who haven’t had a whole lot of success inside the bubble but they are coming off a win against the New York Liberty. In that game, the Fever’s defense stepped up giving up 75 points and that led to a victory. The Fever are averaging 81.5 points per game while giving up 89.1 points per game. The Fever are shooting 44.1 percent from the field while letting opponents shoot 46.8 percent from the field. The Mitchell sisters have been the two best players for Indiana. Coming into this game Kelsey MItchell is averaging 17.8 points per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field.
The Lynx defense is a big concern coming into this game and it’s going to let them down again in this game. Look for the Lynx to struggle to slow down the Fever and that will lead to Indiana covering the spread.
