The Seattle Storm and Phoenix Mercury face off in their 23rd game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Friday.
The Seattle Storm are the best team inside the WNBA bubble and anything less than winning the title will be a disappointment. In the Storm’s last game against the Dallas Wings the offense was elite putting up 107 points and that led to a victory. Seattle has found success and coming into this game they have won six games in a row. Over the last two games the Storm have scored 210 games total. On the season the Storm are averaging 88 points per game while the defense is giving up 76.3 points per game.
Breanna Stewart has been the best offensive player for the Storm averaging 19.7 points while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. Jewell Lloyd has also been a standout for the Storm averaging 15.0 points while shooting 44.6 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the Phoenix Mercury who have also found a lot of success and coming into this game they have won 14 games overall. Even though they have found success the last two games they haven’t been as dominant. Two games ago against the Connecticut Sun the offense struggled and that led to a loss. In the last game the Mercury played the Sun again and the defense was bad giving up 95 points but they were able to win by five points in overtime.
The Mercury are coming into this game averaging 87.4 points per game while the defense is giving up 84.2 points per game. Diana Taurasi has been the best player this season averaging 19.5 points while shooting 40.9 percent from the field. Skylar Diggins-Smith has also found a lot of success averaging 18.5 points while shooting 48.5 percent from the field.
The Storm are the better team and they are going to have no issue getting the job done in this game. Look for the Storm’s defense to struggle and that will lead to them having no issue coming away with a victory. Back the Storm to cover the spread in this game.
