The Los Angeles Sparks and New York Liberty face off in their 18th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Sparks have found a lot of success inside the bubble and coming into this game they have won two of the last three games. In the Sparks last game against the Chicago Sky it was Candace Parker who was the difference putting up 24 points and 15 rebounds. Even though the Sparks only scored 15 points in the 4th quarter, they were still able to win by six points.
On the season the Sparks are averaging 85.8 points per game while the defense is giving up 80.7 points per game. On offense, the Sparks use a balanced attack but Parker has been the best player averaging 14.8 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the New York Liberty who aren’t a very talented team and they come into this game having lost four games in a row. The biggest issue for the Liberty all season has been with the offense and each of the last four games they have scored 67 runs or less. In the last game New York was led by Joyner Holmes who put up 13 points. In the last game the Liberty had four different players put up 10 points. The Liberty are averaging 72.2 points per game while the defense is giving up 86.2 points per game. Layshia Claredon is the best player for the Lynx averaging 11.7 points while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.
The Liberty’s offense is terrible and there is no reason to believe it’s going to be any different in this game. Look for the Sparks to push the pace and lock down on defense. Back the Sparks to win this game and cover the spread.
