The Connecticut Sun and Phoenix Mercury face off in their 18th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Tuesday.
The Indiana Fever have really struggled this season and coming into this game they have lost seven games in a row. The Fever’s defense has been a big issue all season and in three of the last four games they have given up 100 points. The one game they didn’t give up 100 points was in their last against the Connecticut Sun, a game they gave up 96 points. The best player in the last game was Kelsey Mitchell who put up 16 points, five assists, and two rebounds.
On the season the Fever are averaging 81.1 points per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field. The defense is also giving up 89.7 points per game.
On the other side of the matchup is the Las Vegas Aces who come into this game playing well having won two of their last three games. In the Aces last game against the Atlanta Dream the offense was strong putting up 89 points and that led to a ten point victory. On the season the Aces are averaging 88.1 points per game while the defense is giving up 79.7 points per game. The best player this season for the Aces has been A’Ja Wilson who comes into this game averaging 20.3 points per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. In this game, if the defense steps up, they should be in good shape to come away with a victory.
The Aces defense is going to step up and they are going to have no issue coming away with a victory. Look for the Fever to finish with less than 65 points and that will lead to Las Vegas winning this game and covering the spread.
