The Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks face off in their 17th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Sunday.
The Chicago Sky have found some success inside the bubble, but they are coming off one of their worst losses of the season. In the last game against the Washington Mystics, a team that hasn’t been good this season, the offense could only manage 69 points and that led to the loss. On the season the Sky are averaging 86.5 points per game while the defense is giving up 83.1 points per game. The Sky are shooting 49.1 points per game while letting opponents shoot 45.3 percent from the field.
The Sky’s best player this season has been Allie Quigley and coming into this game he is averaging 15.5 points while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Kahleah Copper has also found success for this team averaging 14.9 points while shooting 50.2 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Sparks who have found success inside the bubble, but they have lost two of the last three games. In the last game against the Seattle Storm, the offense was good putting up 89 points, but their defense let them down giving up 90 points and that led to the loss. On the season the Sparks are averaging 85.8 points per game while the defense is giving up 80.7 points.
The best offensive player this season has been Candace Parker who is averaging 14.3 points per game while shooting 48.7 points per game. The Sparks have five different players who are averaging at least ten points per game.
The Sparks might have lost the last game, but they are going to get back on the right track in this game. Look for the Sparks to run up the score, the Sky will have no answer for that and they will win this game and cover the spread.
