The Minnesota Lynx and Dallas Wings face off in their 17th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Friday.
The Minnesota Lynx have dealt with an injury to Sylvia Fowles, but they have just continued to win game, and Fowles being out might actually help them come playoff time. The Lynx have won each of their last two games against the Chicago SKy and Los Angeles Sparks. In the Lynx last game the star of the show was center Damiris Dantas who put up 28 points and seven rebounds. The Minnesota Lynx are averaging 82.8 points per game while their defense is giving up 77.4 points per game. Napheesa Collier has been the best offensive player for the Lynx averaging 15.9 points while shooting 51.8 percent from the field.
Even though Collier has been good, it seems every game there is someone new how steps up and leads the Lynx to success.
On the other side of this matchup is the Dallas Wings who come into this game having lost two of the last three games. In the last game against the Los Angeles Sparks the offense was fine putting up 83 points, but the defense let them down giving up 91 points.and that led to the loss. Arike Ogunbowale was the best player in the last game putting up 17 points, five assists, and two rebounds. The Wings are averaging 82 points while shooting 40.9 percent from the field. On defense the Wings are giving up 85.3 points while shooting 46.1 percent from the field.
Ogunbowale has been the best player for the Wings all season averaging 21.7 points while shooting 41.3 percent from the field.
At this point of the season it’s hard to bet against the Lynx, so we won’t. Look for Collier and the rest of the feisty links to find success scoring the rock and that will be enough to win this game and cover the spread.
