The Minnesota Lynx and Atlanta Dream face off in their 15th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Friday.
The Minnesota Lynx are dealing with a lot of injuries right now but they come into this game having won three of the last four games. The one loss during that stretch was in their last week against the Atlanta Dream, a game they lost by three points. Napheesa Collier was the best player for the Lynx putting up 18 points and eight rebounds. The Lynx’s come into this game averaging 81.5 points per game while the defense is giving up 76.4 points per game. The Lynx defense is allowing opponents to shoot 42.7 percent from deep and 32.1 percent from deep.
The Lynx best player this season has been Collier who comes into this game averaging 15.8 points while shooting 49 percent from the deep. Even with Sylvia Fowles out, the Lynx have had others step up and they need that to happen again in this game. Rooke Crystal Dangerfield has also had a lot of success averaging 14.6 points.
On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Dream who are coming off a win in their last game, but before that they had lost ten games in a row. In the last game against the Lynx, it was the defense late that stepped up giving up only 18 points in the 4th quarter and that was the difference. On the season the Dream are averaging 80.2 points per game while the defense has given up 90.9 points per game. The Dream are shooting 44.7 percent from the field while letting opponents shoot 47 percent from the field.
The best offensive player for the Dream has been Betnijah Laney who is averaging 16.8 points while shooting 48.9 percent from the field. One of the problems for the Dream is their bench has been weak and needs to be better in this game.
This is a great bounce back spot for the Lynx and that will continue in this game. It might not be the prettiest game but they will get the job done.
