The Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx face off in their 14th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Wednesday. These two teams have played in some fierce battles, especially in the WNBA finals.
The Los Angeles Sparks are one of the best teams in the WNBA and coming into this game they have won seven games in a row. Even though they have found success, this usually isn’t a team that is blowing out teams and their offense has been good enough, but not on top of the league. In the last game against the Dallas Wings, the Sparks scored 84 points which was enough to come away with a three point victory. On the season the Sparks are averaging 86.3 points per game while giving up 79.2 points per game. The Sparks are shooting 48.2 percent from the field while allowing opponents shoot 44.1 percent from the field.
Candace Parker has been the best player for the Sparks averaging 14 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Chelsea Gray comes into this game averaging 12.7 points while shooting 40.9 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the Minnesota Lynx who are dealing with multiple injures but have still found a way to win games. Coming into this game the Lynx have won three of their last four games with the only loss coming in their last game against the Atlanta Dream. The offense for the Lynx really fell off late, averaging only 17 points per game in the 3rd and 4th quarter and that led to the loss.
The Lynx are averaging 81.5 points per game while their defense is giving up 76.4 points per game. The best player for the Lynx has Napheesa Collier who comes into this game averaging 15.8 points while shooting 49 percent from the field. Crystal Dangerfield has also been a real bright spot for this team averaging 14.6 points
The Sparks had no issue with the Lynx in their last matchup and it’s going to happen again in this game. Look for the Lynx offense to struggle and this game will stay well under the posted total.
