The Atlanta Dream and Minnesota Lynx face off in their 13th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Sunday.
The Atlanta Dream have really struggled coming into this game but in their last game they almost pulled off the big upset. In the Dream’s last game they made it to overtime against the Los Angeles Sparks but in the overtime period they only scored four points, and that led to the loss.
In that game the Dream got off to a slow start in the game, and if it wasn’t for that, they probably could have come away with a victory. On the season the Dream are averaging 80.4 points while giving up 92.1 points per game. Chennedy Carter has been the Dream’s best player averaging 17 points but it’s unclear if she will play in this game as she deals with an ankle injury. If she can’t go that is a big loss for this team.
On the other side of this matchup is the Minnesota Lynx who are banged up, but they have had young players step up and coming into this game they have won three games in a row. One of the real bright spots for this team has been second-round pick Crystal Dangerfield who put up 19 points in the last game and without him, that’s a game they probably lost.
The Lynx are without Sylvia Fowles who is dealing with an injury which means players like Dangerfield and Naphheesa Collier have had to step up. Collier comes into this game averaging 15.6 points while shooting 49.3 percent from the field.
The Lynx are the better team and it’s going to be another game where the young players step up. Look for the Lynx’s defense to lock down and that will be enough for the Lynx to come away with a victory. If you are looking for a play on the total it’s a lean to the under, but that is a lean at best.
