The Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun face off in their 11th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Tuesday.
The Indiana Fever have had some issues this season but coming into this game they have won two of their last four games. In the last game though they had a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks and the defense let them down in that game giving up 90 points. In the last game they allowed four players to score at least 13 points, and in this game if they want a chance they need the defense to be better.
On the season the Fever are averaging 83.5 points per game while their defense is giving up 87.8 points per game. On offense the Fever are led by Kelsey Mitchell who comes into this game averaging 19.6 points per game. Tiffany Mitchell has also been a star for the Fever averaging 14.2 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Connecticut Sun who got off to a slower start but coming into this game playing well having won three of the last four games. The one loss during that stretch was in their last game against the Seattle Storm, a game where their defense really struggled giving up 95 points and that led to the loss. Coming into this game the Sun are averaging 79.4 points while their defense is giving up 82 points.
The best player this season for the Sun has been DeWanna Bonner who comes into this game averaging 18.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Alyssa Thomas has also found a lot of success this season averaging 14.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. In this game to win the defense is going to need to find a way to step up.
Connecticut is the better team and they are going to have no issue slowing down the Fever’s offense. Look for Connecticut to win this game and cover the spread.
