The Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun face off in their 11th game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Sunday.
Right now is there a better bet than the Seattle Storm to win the WNBA title? The Storm have played ten games so far inside the bubble and they have only lost one of them against the Washington Mystics and that was a few weeks ago. In the Storm’s last game against the Dallas Wings the defense locked down in a big way giving up only 65 points and that led to a victory. Breanna Stewart was the best player in that last game for the Storm putting up 21 points and six rebounds. On the season the Storm are averaging 85.5 points while giving up 73.4 points.
The Storm’s best player this season has been Stewart who comes into this game averaging 18.9 points per game. Outside of Stewart, the Storm are a very balanced attack with six players averaging at least nine points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Connecticut Sun who got out to a slow start ot the season, but coming into this game they are playing better winning each of the last three games. Each of the last two games the Sun’s defense has given up under 75 points and the offense has also been strong. IN the Sun’s last victory it was a balanced attack that was the difference with four players putting up at least 15 runs.
On the season the Sun are averaging 80.1 points and 80.7 points per game. DeWanna Bonner is the best player for the Sun, who is averaging 18.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Four players are averaging at 11.7 points per game.
These are two teams who are playing well coming into this game, but the Sun have proven they can be competitive. With no lines out yet, it’s a bit tough, but if the Sun are the underdogs, take them to cover the spread.
