The New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks face off in their eighth game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Tuesday.
The New York Liberty have had all kinds of issues this season and so far inside the bubble they have won only one game. That win for the Liberty was two games ago against the Washington Mystics, a game they won 74-66. In the last game the Liberty were competitive against the Las Vegas Aces, but the last couple of minutes let them down, and that led to a two point loss. One of the big issues for the Liberty is they are without Sabrina Ionescu who is dealing with a severe ankle sprain. Before the injury, Ionescu was averaging 18.3 points per game.
The Liberty's offense has been a big issue this year averaging only 73.1 points per game while giving up 85.1 points per game. Layshia Clarendon has been the best player putting up 13.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Sparks who are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season in their last game against the Minnesota Lynx. In that last game, the Sparks offense put up 97 points and that led to the victory. Riquna Williams was the difference in that game putting up 21 points. The Spars come into this game averaging 85.4 points and 81.6 points per game.
The Sparks have used a balanced attack all season with five players averaging at least nine points per game. Candace Parker has been the best player for the Twins this year averaging 14.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. In this game the Sparks need to run up the score again.
The Sparks are the better team and they are going to make life tough on the Liberty in this game. Look for the Sparks to run up the score in this game and the Liberty won’t keep up. Back the Sparks to win this game and cover the spread.
