The Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks face off in their seventh game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Sunday. Even though the rosters might look a little different now these are two teams who have had some major battles the last few years, especially during the playoffs.
There didn’t seem to be many expectations surrounding this Lynx team heading into the season but they have found a lot of success winning five of their six games. The only loss during that stretch was during their second game against the Seattle Storm, a game they gave up 90 points in. The Lynx’s last game was against the Indiana Fever, and they looked really good scoring 87 points while giving up 80 points. On the season the Lynx are averaging 80.5 points while giving up 75.8 points.
The star of the Lynx is Sylvia Fowles who comes into this game averaging 16..8 points and 11 rebounds per game. Napheesa Collier has also been really strong for the team putting up 14 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Los Angeles Sparks who come into this game having won three games while losing three games. In the Aces last game against the Las Vegas Aces, the defense let them down giving up 86 points and that led to the loss. On the season the Sparks are averaging 83.5 points while giving up 81.7 points per game.
The best player for the Sparks has been Candace Parker who comes into this game averaging 14.7 points while giving up 10.3 points. The Sparks have different players who are averaging at least nine points per game. Seimone Augustus is one of those players averaging at least nine points and this is her first year not as a member of the Lynx.
The Lynx have been impressive this year and they are going to have their offense run up the score. Look for Fowles to run up the score and that will be enough for the Lynx to win this game in impressive fashion.
