The Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever face off in their fourth WNBA game Sunday inside the WNBA bubble at the IMG Academy.
The Atlanta Dream have looked strong in two of their games, and the other game they didn’t look good. To start the season the Atlanta Dream’s offense was impressive putting up 105 points and that led to the victory. In the second game, the offense wasn’t great putting up only 70 points and that led to the loss. In the second half, the Dream scored only 35 points and that led to the loss. In the third game of the season, the Dream’s offense still wasn’t elite, but they still were able to come away with an 84-78 victory.
The Atlanta Dream is led by Betnijah Laney who comes into this game averaging 19 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. The Dream have also gotten some success from Elizabeth Williams who comes into this game averaging 16 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Fever who comes into this game having lost two of his three games. To start the season, the Mystics ran up the score against the Fever, and they really had no chance with the Fever losing 101-76. In the second game the Fever’s offense was good putting up 106 points and that led to a six-point victory. In the third game, Fever’s defense was decent giving up only 76 points, but the offense struggled, and that led to a three-point loss. The offense has been inconsistent, and to have success in this game, the offense is going to need to be better.
Kelsey Mitchell comes into this game the leader of the Fever averaging 17 points per game. Tiffany Mitchell has also been strong for the Fever averaging 16.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
The Fever in this game are going to try and slow down the pace of play and that will be the difference in this game. It might not be enough for the Fever to win this game, but it will be enough to keep this game under the total.
