The Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings face off in their third WNBA game on Friday night inside the WNBA bubble at the IMG Academy.
The Indiana Fever currently sit with a 1-1 record losing their first game of the season but bouncing back in the last one. In the first game of the season, the Fever’s defense was terrible against the Washington Mystics giving up 101 points while the offense only managed 76. In the first game, the Fever allowed Myshia Hines-Allen to score 27 points. In the second game the Fever’s defense once again was a problem giving up 100 points, but the offense made up for it, giving up 106 points. On offense the Indiana Fever are led by Kelsey Mitchell and he is averaging 21.5 points per game. Tiffany Mitchell has also been strong for the team putting up 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 rebounds per game. In this game it’s going to come down to the defense step up.
On the other side of this matchup is the Dallas Wings who also come into this game with a 1-1 record. To start the season the Wings struggled against the Atlanta Dream giving up 105 points while the offense scored 95 points. In the second game, the Wings offense put up 93 points but the defense stepped up in that game giving up only 80 points and that led to the loss. Arike Ogunbowale is averaging 19.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Allisha Gray has also found a lot of success averaging 14.5 points,
In this game it’s all going to come down to how the defense plays and the team that steps up on defense will probably find success.
These are both teams with good offense and that is going to continue in this game. Look for both the Wings and Fever to both run up the score and that will be the difference. Look for both teams to get to close to 100 and that will lead to this game going over the total.
