The Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx face off in their third game of the WNBA season inside the bubble at IMG Academy on Thursday.
The Chicago Sky have found a lot of success so far this season winning each of their first two games. In the first game of the season it was a nice little comeback in the 4th quarter that allowed them to knock off the Las Vegas Aces. In the second game it was much easier against the Los Angeles Sparks. In that game, the Sky put up 96 points against the Los Angeles Sparks winning 96-78. In the 4th quarter, the Sky put up 30 points and that helped seal the 18 point victory. The star for the Sky is Kahleah Cooper who is averaging 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The Sky have had five different players score at least 10 points per game. In this game if the Sky can run up the score again in this game they should be in good shape to come away with a victory.
On the other side of this matchup is the Minnesota Lynx who come into this game with a 1-1 record, and they really probably should be 0-2. In the first game of the series the Lynx actually struggled in three quarters against the Connecticut Sun, but in the 4th quarter they outscored them 27-12 and that led to a 77-69 victory. In the second game the Lynx struggled all over the court losing 90-66. In three of the four quarters the Lynx struggled scoring 17 points or less, and in this game the offense is going to need to be better. Sylvia Fowles comes into this game averaging 16 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. In this game Fowles is going to need to have another big game but they are going to need other players to step up.
The Lynx struggled in the last game, and they are going to get lit up again in this game. Outside of Fowles, the Lynx don’t have a whole lot of talent and the Sky are going to take advantage. Back the Sky to come away with a win in this game and cover the spread.
