The final match of the WTA season comes down to the most in-form player on tour against the world’s best player. Rybakina is on a 10-match winning streak, having won the title in Ningbo and cruised to her first final at the year-end championships without losing a match. Like Rybakina, Sabalenka is also undefeated this week, and cemetned her status as the year-end No. 1.Rybakina has opened up about her shoulder struggles this week and we saw some strapping on her right shoulder in some of her matches. She said she’s managing the problem, but it hasn’t physcially hampered her serve. She fired 15 aces against Pegula. But you don’t want to hear such concerns before a big final against the tour’s serial power hitter. Sabalenka has been a class above the field in terms of consistency this season and I reckon she’ll finally get her hands on another big title.
