Top seed Jannik Sinner will face eighth seed Alexander Bublik in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Vienna Open on Friday, October 24. Here’s our Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik prediction. This preview will also include a Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik pick.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Preview

Jannik Sinner delivered another straight sets win to reach the Vienna Open quarterfinals for the fourth time. The 2023 champion easily won the first set against countryman Flavio Cobolli. Sinner secured two breaks of serve and needed 45 minutes to wrap up the first set.

But Cobolli was competitive in the second set, and after saving three break points from 0-40 down and holding for 6-5, he forced a tiebreak. Sinner was able to get a crucial mini break for a 5-3 lead, and the top seed did not let that advantage slip and finished off the breaker 7-4.

Sinner hit 4 aces and 1 double fault in the victory. Sinner landed 65% of first serves in play and won 69% of first serve points (29/42). He won 78% of second serve points (18/23) and did not face a break point in the whole match. Sinner improves to 48-6 for the season.

Alexander Bublik also registered a straight sets win over World No. 21 Francisco Cerundolo, who is not having a great year. The match took 18 games to decide and lasted just 66 minutes. Bublik took 32 minutes to win the first set. He broke in the opening game and maintained that lead throughout and held to love to win the set 6-4. Bublik broke Cerundolo twice in the second set, which was more one-sided.

The Kazakh hit 11 aces and 4 double faults in the victory. Bublik landed 76% of first serves in play and won 80% of first serve points (40/50). Bublik won 38% of second serve points (6/16) and saved all six break points he faced in the match. This was his 44th win of his best-ever season and that takes him to his first Vienna Open quarterfinal.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Head-To-Head

Sinner leads Bublik 5-2 in the head-to-head. The Italian dropped just three games in a straight sets demolition at the US Open. That was their most recent meeting.

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Prediction

Bublik is one of two men to beat Jannik Sinner in a completed match, sitting side by side with Carlos Alcaraz in that stat. That is quite a feat considering Sinner’s banner year. Bublik will try all sorts of things and throw some trick shots, but I don’t see the Kazakh getting much joy in Vienna. Sinner is almost unplayable and can easily smother Bublik’s chaotic game before it even becomes dangerous. It will probably still be competitive than at the US Open, but Sinner should progress.

Nur Said's Pick: Sinner in straight sets
