Novak Djokovic will face Jakub Mensik in the fourth round of the 2026 Australian Open on Monday, January 26. Here’s our Novak Djokovic vs Jakub Mensik prediction. This preview will also include a Novak Djokovic vs Jakub Mensik pick.

Novak Djokovic vs Jakub Mensik Preview

Novak Djokovic extended his extraordinary Grand Slam record by winning his 400th match win at the majors. Djokovic is coming off a straight sets victory against Botic van de Zandschulp that took 32 games to decide. Djokovic prevailed 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 in nearly three hours. He saved two set points in the third and went on to win the tiebreak on his second match point.

In the victory, Djokovic hit 27 winners and 23 unforced errors. That included 11 aces and 6 double faults. Djokovic landed 64% of first serves in play and won 77% of first serve points (47/61). He won 60% of second serve points (21/35) and saved five of seven break points.

Djokovic had earlier in the tournament registered his 100th match win at the Australian Open alone and now owns a 400-55 record in Slams, well clear of retired former rival Roger Federer, who has 369 wins and 60 losses at the four majors combined.

Jakub Mensik has reached the round of 16 at the Australian Open for the first time and will confront his idol Novak Djokovic, in their third career meeting. Mensik defeated an inspired Ethan Quinn in three tight sets to reach the second week in Melbourne. Mensik took the first set 6-2 in 34 minutes. The Czech trailed 2-5 in the second set, but recovered to level the set and won it in a tiebreak. Despite looking on course to victory when he led 3-1 in the third set, Mensik was broken back and needed another tiebreak to ease to victory.

Mensik fired 38 winners and 34 unforced errors in the victory, including 10 aces and 8 double faults. Mensik landed 50% of first serves in play and won 75% of first serve points (38/51). He won 57% of second serve points (29/51) and saved three of six break points. Before this round, Mensik beat Pablo Carreno Busta in five sets and Rafael Jodar in straight sets. This is officially his best Grand Slam run.

Novak Djokovic vs Jakub Mensik Head-To-Head

Djokovic and Mensik have met twice on the ATP Tour. Djokovic won their first meeting at the 2024 Shanghai Masters in three sets. Mensik defeated the Serbian in the 2025 Miami Open final to win his first Masters title.

Novak Djokovic vs Jakub Mensik Prediction

The over 3.5 sets is probably the safe lean here. Djokovic hasn’t lost a set in the tournament. Even without playing a single minute of any warm-up tournaments before the Australian Open, he’s been efficient. However, he’s stepping up in class here. Mensik will be his first top 20 opponent, and he’s a player with reliable serving pop and doesn’t rush points. Djokovic will likely win because he’s a master at managing momentum and beats Mensik in experience.

Nur Said's Pick: Over 3.5 sets in the match
