Cameron Norrie reached back-to-back finals in Metz after a hard-fought semifinal victory against Lorenzo Sonego. Norrie lost the first set to the Italian in 41 minutes, dropping his serve in the third game. But after saving some early break points at the start of the second set, Norrie broke Sonego to lead 3-1. The Briton got a second break in the eighth game to take the second set 6-2. There was nothing to separate them in the third set until the 10th game, when Sonego was broken to 15 while serving to stay in the match.Norrie hit 6 aces and 1 double fault in the victory. Norrie landed 83% of first serves in play and won 84% of first serve points (48/57). He won 58% of second serve points (7/12) and saved three of four break points. Norrie lost his first final in Metz last season to Benjamin Bonzi.
Learner Tien advanced to his second ATP final. The American will look to crown a breakout season with a title. Tien rose up to 31st in the live rankings. To reach here, Tien lost just one set during the week and that was against a former Top 10 player in Matteo Berrettini.
Tien has beaten each of Ugo Blanchet, Moez Echargui and Vitaliy Sachko in straight sets. Tien is the youngest American man to win 30 matches in a season since Andy Roddick. He lost his first ATP Tour final in Beijing to Jannik Sinner.
