Madison Keys will face Sara Bejlek in the Cincinnati Open quarterfinals on Friday, August 21st. Here’s our Madison Keys vs Sara Bejlek prediction. This preview will include a Madison Keys vs Sara Bejlek pick.

Madison Keys vs Sara Bejlek Preview

Madison Keys reached her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal of the season at the Cincinnati Open with a hard-fought straight sets win over World No. 108 Xiyu Wang. Keys took an hour and six minutes to settle a tight opening set in a tiebreak. It was a set in which Keys trailed by a break, but went on to dominate in the tiebreak. In the second set, Keys was a break up and cruising at 4-2, but despite giving back the break, she managed to break Wang again in the ninth game. The American made no mistake while serving for the victory.

Keys hit 5 aces and committed 4 double faults in the victory. She landed 62% of first serves in play and won 83% of first serve points (34/41). Keys won 48% of second serve points (12/25) and saved three of five break points. Before this round, Keys beat Daria Snigur and Katerina Siniakova. She has dropped just one set in the tournament. Keys is bidding to reach her third career semifinal at the Cincinnati Open.

Sara Bejlek pulled off the biggest win of her young career in the last round. The Czech knocked out World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets for a spot in the Cincinnati Open quarterfinals. The match took 23 games to decide. Bejlek was a break down twice in the opening set, but managed to rally from behind to force a tiebreak. She trailed 1-5 in the tiebreak but still won it 9-7.

In the second set, the 20-year-old battled back from the brink again, reeling off five games in a row from 1-4 down to win 7-6, 6-4 in just under two hours. In the victory, Bejlek hit 3 aces. She landed 67% of first serves in play and won 67% of first serve points (31/46). Bejlek won 39% of second serve points (9/23) and saved two out of six break points. Before this round, Bejlek earned wins over Karolina Pliskova, Barbora Krejcikova, and Ekaterina Alexandrova. This is her fourth quarterfinal of the season. She’s lost twice and progressed once at this stage (won the title in Abu Dhabi).

Madison Keys vs Sara Bejlek Head-To-Head

Keys and Bejlek have never met before, so this will be their first meeting.

Madison Keys vs Sara Bejlek Prediction

This is a sensational fortnight for Bejlek, who has taken out two Grand Slam champions, including reigning World No. 1 Sabalenka. She’s dealt with a handful of big hitters to get here and won’t be fazed by Madison Keys’ searing power. Power alone won’t suffice, because Bejlek covers the court extremely well and can inject pace too. That said, I think Keys can find enough clean strikes with her forehand, and she has looked increasingly sharper with each match.

Nur Said's Pick: Keys in three sets
