Katie Boulter of Great Britain will square off against Nadia Podoroska in the women’s singles match in Group F of the 2025 United Cup in Sydney, Australia on Monday, December 30, 2024. Here’s our Katie Boulter vs Nadia Podoroska prediction. This preview will also contain a Katie Boulter vs Nadia Podoroska pick.

Katie Boulter Preview

Katie Boulter is playing at the United Cup for the second year in a row. Last year, she won two singles matches, but Great Britain finished bottom of the group containing home nation Australia and former champions USA.

This year, Great Britain has been drawn in the same group as Australia whom they meet in the final tie.

For now, though, Boulter’s focus will be on giving her country the first point against Argentina who have already set the pace in this group by beating Australia.

And the absence of Jack Draper in Team GB means that Boulter will shoulder a lot of responsibility and must do a lot of winning. She’s coming off the best season of her career, breaking the world’s Top 30 for the first time after winning two titles.

Nadia Podoroska Preview

Nadia Podoroska silenced the Sydney crowd on Saturday after beating homegirl Olivia Gadecki in straight sets in an hour and 29 minutes. The match took 18 games to decide.

Podoroska landed 72% of her first serves and won 64% of first-serve points (23/36). She won 64% of second-serve points (9/14) while saving one of three break points.

Podoroska won 53% of return points (36/68) and converted five of 17 break points. It’s the first time she has won a match in the United Cup.

• Boulter and Podoroska have never met at the WTA level.

Katie Boulter vs Nadia Podoroska Prediction

It can be quite intimidating playing a home player, but Podoroska took full advantage of Olivia Gadecki’s nerves to set the tone for Argentina’s shock win over home nation Australia on Saturday.

But I don’t think she’ll have the same luck facing a fully charged-up Boulter whose disappointment of squandering a crucial rubber against Slovakia at the Billie Jean King Cup last month will be on the back of her mind. Boulter is the superior player on this surface and she has a much bigger game to hit through Podoroska. Give me Boulter in straight sets.
