Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic meet in the semifinals of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. The match is scheduled for Friday, July 11. Here’s our Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic prediction. This preview will also include a Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic pick.

Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Preview
Jannik  Sinner is coming off a straight-sets win over Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals. Sinner won the first set in a tie-break after 53 minutes. Neither player lost their serve at that point. But Sinner was the first to break in the second set, doing so in the 10th game to win the set 6-4. Again, one break was all Sinner needed in the third set, to clinch a 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory. Sinner spent two hours and 21 minutes to win that match, beating Shelton for the sixth time in seven meetings. Overall, Sinner planted 33 winners and 17 unforced errors, and that included seven aces and one double fault.

Sinner landed 65% of first serves in play and won 89% of first serve points (50/56). He won 67% of second serve points (20/30) and saved both break points she faced. Sinner had a huge strapping on his right arm, after injuring his elbow during his match against Grigor Dimitrov in the last 16. The Italian lost two sets in that one and was on the brink of exit before Dimitrov’s unfortunate retirement. Outside of that, Sinner won all his other matches in straight sets. This will be his second semifinal at Wimbledon and he will look to get revenge for his only previous loss in this tournament at this stage to Novak Djokovic in 2022.

Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, is coming off a four-set win over Sinner’s compatriot Flavio Cobolli. As one of the tour’s newest breakout stars, Cobolli regards Djokovic as his idol but didn’t show too much respect in this match as he took the first set 7-6 in an hour and nine minutes. Djokovic responded by taking the second set 6-2 in just 26 minutes. The third set was a barnburner, with Djokovic breaking Cobolli in the 11th game before serving to 15 for the set. Djokovic broke Cobolli towards the end of the fourth set before holding serve to complete the win.

Djokovic hit 39 winners and 22 unforced errors. He accounted for 13 aces and two double faults. Djokovic landed 70% of first serves and won 75% of first serve points (61/81). Djokovic won 69% of second serve points (24/35) and only faced two break points. Djokovic has lost at least one set in three matches in the tournament. He is bidding to win a 25th Grand Slam and can reach his 11th Wimbledon final. Djokovic is a seven-time champion and last lost a semifinal here in 2012.

Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Head-To-Head
Sinner and Djokovic have met nine times. Sinner holds a 5-4 lead and defeated Djokovic when they played at the 2025 French Open last month. They have played twice on grass at Wimbledon. Djokovic won both meetings in 2022 and 2023.

Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Prediction
I can only assume Sinner’s elbow injury will get better. He wasn’t too bothered by it in beating Shelton who I thought would trouble him on grass. Djokovic might also be carrying an injury into this match after his nasty fall during his quarterfinal win over Cobolli, saying he’ll likely feel the impact on Thursday. This will be tense and I reckon that at least either player will win two sets. Sinner looks to reach his first Wimbledon final and has been the man to beat for the last 18 months. I’m giving him the edge.
