Because of his excellent level in Rome, Sinner chose to withdraw from the Hamburg Open, deeming the matches he played in the Eternal City sufficient for his rhythm and sharpness. Arthur Rinderknech is the World No. 72. He is a former Top 50 player on the ATP Tour. Rinderknech will be playing at his home Grand Slam. His record at the French Open is not the best. This is his sixth main draw. He has lost in the first round three times and advanced to the second round in each of his last two trips. However, Rinderknech has not beaten a player of the caliber of Jannik Sinner in Paris. 

Rinderknech holds a 5-7 record on clay this season, having lost three of his last four matches coming to the French Open. Rinderknech last competed in the Geneva Open and lost 4-6, 1-6 to Hubert Hurkacz. His last Grand Slam match win was at the 2024 US Open when he beat Christopher Eubanks.

This should be a routine win for the top seed.
