Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina meet in the fourth round of the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros. The match is scheduled for Sunday, June 1. Here’s our Iga Swiatek vs Elena Rybakina prediction. This preview will also include an Iga Swiatek vs Elena Rybakina pick.
Iga Swiatek Preview
Iga Swiatek reached the fourth round of the French Open with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian. Swiatek breezed through the first set in 35 minutes with a couple of breaks of serve. Cristian put in a fight in the second set, managing to fend off some break points early on. But the pressure mounted towards the end, and Swiatek broke for the match in the 12th game.
Swiatek finished the match with 20 winners and 21 unforced errors. She landed 50% of first serves in play and won 75% of first serve points (24/32). Swiatk won 69% of second serve points (22/32) and saved all six breakpoints she faced in the match. Swiatek has not dropped a set in the tournament. She beat Rebecca Sramkova 6-3, 6-3 in the opening round and earned a 6-1, 6-2 win against Emma Raducanu in the second round. Swiatek can reach the quarterfinals at Roland Garros for the sixth time in a row. She has lost in the last 16 once before, and that was in 2019.
Elena Rybakina Preview
Elena Rybakina entered this year’s French Open ranked outside the Top 10, but that hasn’t stopped her from reaching the second week of the tournament. Rybakina began the event with a three-set win over Argentina’s Julia Riera. In the second round, she took care of American teenager Iva Jovic in straight sets to set up a blockbuster meeting against 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko.
Rybakina won the battle of heavyweights, knocking out the Latvian in two routine sets. She won the first set 6-2, breaking Ostapenko in the opening game and in the seventh game. In the second set, Rybakina led 4-1 before she gave away one of the breaks back. But her response was immediate. She broke Ostapenko in the seventh game before serving to 30. Rybakina tallied 24 winners and 20 unforced errors, including six aces and four double faults. Rybakina landed 42% of first serves in play and won 80% of first serve points (16/20). She won 57% of second serve points (16/28) and saved one of two breakpoints.
Iga Swiatek vs Elena Rybakina Head-To-Head
Swiatek and Rybakina have played four times at tour level. The head-to-head is tied at 4-4. Rybakina led 4-2, but Swiatek won their two meetings in 2025 on hard courts. On clay, it is Rybakina who surprisingly leads 2-0.
Iga Swiatek vs Elena Rybakina Prediction
Swiatek would’ve breathed a huge sigh of relief at the prospect of avoiding Ostapenko in the fourth round. But there’s a caveat to that situation. She’ll face Kazakhstan’s top-ranked player. Rybakina has not lost to Swiatek on clay, which is somewhat befuddling given what Swiatek has achieved on this surface. Rybakina is a player who often pushes Swiatek beyond the baseline and is capable of hitting her off the court, but Chatrier is still Swiatek’s cathedral. Current form and match dynanimcs slightly favor Rybakina.
