Grigor Dimitrov vs Elmer Moller Preview
Grigor Dimitrov is returning to Davis Cup competition for the first time since 2015. The 35-year-old Bulgarian legend began representing his country at the Davis Cup in 2008, winning his first 10 singles matches. Dimitrov has lost just once in singles in this competition, and that was against Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia back in 2010.Dimitrov has compiled a 12-19 record this season, with the highlight of his season being a fourth-round finish at Wimbledon, where he beat Jakub Mensik and Matteo Berrettini. Because of his low ranking as a consequence of an injury layoff last season, Dimitrov needed to qualify for the US Open and did so successfully. However, he lost in the main draw to Alexei Popyrin in four sets.
Elmer Moller is ranked 174th in the ATP rankings. Moller has been nominated to play for his country at the Davis Cup each year since his debut in 2022. He has a 6-4 record in singles matches, tallying impressive wins over Alexander Bublik, Jaume Munar and Hamad Medjedovic. This season, Moller has battled persistent injuries and missed some important tournaments, including the French Open. He was last in action at the Mallorca Challenger at the start of September, where he lost in the first round to Maks Kasnikowski.
