Jesper De Jong and Yannick Hanfmann will meet in the first round of the 2026 ATP Marrakech on Monday, March 30. Here’s our De Jong vs Hanfmann prediction. This preview will also include a De Jong vs Hanfmann pick.

De Jong vs Hanfmann Preview

Jesper De Jong enters the 2026 Marrakech Open ranked 91st in the ATP rankings. He is a former World No. 71 and is making his second appearance in Marrakech. Last year, he made his debut in this ATP 250 clay-court tournament and beat Elliot Benchetrit in the opening round before bowing out at the hands of Kamil Majchrzak in the last 16.

In 14 matches this season, De Jong has compiled 5 wins and 9 losses. He has enjoyed his most productive spell so far on clay at the Challenger level, reaching the semifinals in Murcia this past week. And this week, the Dutchman lost in the second round of the Alicante Challenger Edas Butvilas. Last year, De Jong had a 21-15 record on clay.

Yannick Hanfmann enters the 2026 Marrakech Open ranked 64th in the ATP rankings. Hanfmann is a former Top 50 player who peaked at World No. 45 in the past. He is the eighth seed in Marrakech this week, making his second appearance in this event. His previous visit to Marrakech resulted in a first-round exit when he was forced to retire against Carlos Taberner.

This season, Hanfmann has played 16 matches so far ahead of the clay-court swing. He has won 10 matches and lost six times. His best result was reaching the final of the Santiago Open in Chile during the Golden Swing, where he beat the likes of Dusan Lajovic and Francisco Cerundolo, but lost to an in-form Luciano Darderi in two tight sets. Hanfmann’s most recent match was at the Miami Open, where he entered the main draw as a qualifier and lost in the first round to Rafael Jodar in three sets.

De Jong vs Hanfmann Head-To-Head

De Jong and Hanfmann have never met at tour level, so this will be their first career meeting on the pro tour.

De Jong vs Hanfmann Prediction

Both players have shown signs of good form on clay, with De Jong enjoying a semifinal run in Murcia after a mixed start to 2026. Hanfmann is the traditiional clay-court expert with a welath of experince on this surface and its no wonder he is considered a heavy favorite. But I’m leaning with the overs in total games here.

Nur Said's Pick: Over 21.5 games in the match
