Flavio Cobolli enjoyed a fine 2025 campaign. In 58 matches played, Cobolli won 32 and lost 26 times. He lifted his first ATP Tour title in Bucharest and added a second also on clay at the Hamburg Open.
Cobolli also delivered his best result at the Grand Slam level by making the Wimbledon quarterfinals, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in four sets. Cobolli represented his country in three competitions. He started at the United Cup, where he picked up two singles wins and then helped Italy reach the Hopman Cup final mid-season, losing narrowly to Canada.
But the 23-year-old stepped up in Bologna to steer Italy to a third successive Davis Cup title with dramatic victories over Zizou Bergs of Belgium and Jaume Munar of Spain. Cobolli touched the world’s Top 20, but finished the season ranked 22nd.
Zhizhen Zhang was once China’s No. 1 ATP player, but after an injury-troubled 2025 season, he finds himself outside the top 400. Zhang played just 17 matches this year, winning five times and losing 12 matches.
Zhang’s best result was in early 2025 when he made the quarterfinals in Marseille. But he was sidelined for six months between March and September because of a serious shoulder injury. Upon his return to action, he won once in four matches.
