Novak Djokovic reached his 144th Tour level final with a straight sets win over Yannick Hanfmann in Athens. The match took 19 games to decide and Djokovic, who lost his serve for the first time this week, easily won 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 20 minutes.

Lorenzo Musetti, meanwhile, outlasted Sebastian Korda in an epic to make the Athens final. Musetti saved a match point with an ace deep in the third set and secured a vital break in the next game before he served for the match. Musetti prevailed 6-0, 5-7, 7-5 after two hours and 22 minutes.

Musetti tallied 9 aces and 3 double faults in the win. He landed 72% of first serves in play and won 68% of first serve points (50/74). Musetti won 52% of second serve points (15/29) and saved three of five break points. Musetti advanced to his third final of the season. He lost to Alcaraz in Monte Carlo and squandered match points in Chengdu against Tabilo.

He squandered two championship points in Chengdu a couple of months ago, where he was the favorite for the crown. To end his title drought, he’d have to do so against the greatest player ever and simultaneously clinch the last spot in Turin. Djokovic is going for his 101st title and on his 144th tour level final and I don’t expect the Serbian to take his foot off the pedal. Give me Djokovic in two sets.
