Maja Chwalinska continued her dream run at the French Open after taking out home favorite Diane Parry in straight sets. Chwalinska has beaten two former Top 10 players in the past two weeks, including reigning Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng. But Monday’s victory over Parry was far more straightforward. The match took 17 games to decide, with Chwalinska cruising 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 35 minutes.
In the victory, Chwalinska hit 21 winners and 14 unforced errors. She landed 75% of first serves in play and won 76% of first serve points (32/42). Chwalinska won 57% of second serve points (8/14) and only faced one break point on her serve. This is Chwalinska’s first quarterfinal at Grand Slam level.
