World No. 140 Dominika Salkova will face World No. 251 Chloe Paquet in the second round of the 2025 Angers Challenger on Thursday, December 4. Here’s our Dominika Salkova vs Chloe Paquet prediction. This preview will also include a Dominika Salkova vs Chloe Paquet pick.

Dominika Salkova vs Chloe Paquet Preview

Dominika Salkova won a thrilling opening match in Angers against Belgian wild card Jeline Vandromme in two hours and 32 minutes. The match took 34 games to decide. Salkova was a break up in the opening set and had two set points, which Vandromme saved on her serve to hold for 5-all. Salkova dropped her serve thereafter, and Vandromme expertly held to snatch the first set 7-5.

Salkova’s response in the second set was efficient as she broke Vandromme’s serve twice and went on to win the set 6-3. The Czech had a double break at the start of the third set, leading 3-0, but quickly lost that advantage as Vandromme won four straight games to restore parity. A tiebreak would eventually settle things and it was Salkova who pinched a late mini break to win the match 7-5.

There was no such drama in Chloe Paquet’s first-round win against Lucia Bronzetti. The Frenchwoman was a +150 pre-match underdog and even lost the first set 7-5 in 55 minutes to the much-fancied Bronzetti. But she only dropped two games in the next two sets as she turned the match on its head.

Paquet won 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 for her 20th victory of the season at all levels. She will bid to reach the quarterfinals for a second time. The last time she made the last eight was in 2023, when she finished runner-up.

Dominika Salkova vs Chloe Paquet Head-To-Head

Paquet beat Salkova in three sets in their only meeting at the 2023 Tallinn 2 ITF tournament.

Dominika Salkova vs Chloe Paquet Prediction

There is a clear disparity in results and form over the last 12 months between Salkova and Paquet. And this is not the kind of territory where you would take Paquet as the more trustworthy option of late. A win over an out-of-form doesn’t change that notion. Salkova’s game holds up better under pressure, and I’d expect her to grind this out.

Nur Said's Pick: Salkova in three sets
