World No. 422 Fiona Ferro will face World No. 138 Tamara Korpatsch in the second round of the 2025 Angers Challenger on Thursday, December 4. Here’s our Fiona Ferro vs Tamara Korpatsch prediction. This preview will also include a Fiona Ferro vs Tamara Korpatsch pick.

Fiona Ferro vs Tamara Korpatsch Preview

Fiona Ferro made her comeback from wrist surgery this week and played her first match in almost six months. It was a successful return for Ferro, who beat Australia’s Tina Nadine Smith in three sets.

The impressive result was secured from a set down. Ferro lost the first 6-3 in 46 minutes as she was still getting up to speed with the intensity of competitive tennis yet again. But she raised her level and tapped into her experience at the top level to win the second set. She got a break in the first game and then another one in the fifth game and the seventh game. But she also dropped her serve a couple of times and needed two set points to clinch the second set. In the third set, Ferro had the fresher legs after her six-month layoff and shone, breaking Smith’s serve three times.

Tamara Korpatsch, for her part, beat Anna Siskova in straight sets. The match took 20 games to decide and lasted an hour and 37 minutes. Korpatsch won two sets with an identical score 6-4, 6-4.

In the victory, Korpatsch hit 1 ace and 3 double faults. The German landed 53% of first serves in play and won 60% of first serve points (27/45). Korpatsch won 55% of second serve points (22/40) and saved six of nine break points.

Fiona Ferro vs Tamara Korpatsch Head-To-Head

Korpatsch leads the head-to-head 3-0, winning all three contests on clay. This will be their first meeting in seven years.

Fiona Ferro vs Tamara Korpatsch Prediction

I don’t think the head-to-head is relevant here, as they last played seven years ago, when neither of these two women was an established top 100 player. Both have since been out of the top-tier picture, but it is Ferro who has paid a hefty price for her absence on tour to undergo surgery. She’s ranked outside the top 400. But a first win on her comeback will surely ignite her confidence. For someone who is motivated to reclaim her form and build on her ranking, it feels like a very important match.
