Third seed Alexander Bublik will face French qualifier Valentin Royer in the final of the 2025 Hangzhou Open. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23. Here’s our Alexander Bublik vs Valentin Royer prediction. This preview will also include an Alexander Bublik vs Valentin Royer pick.

Alexander Bublik vs Valentin Royer Preview

Alexander Bublik reached his sixth final of the season at the Hangzhou Open. Bublik defeated home player Yibing Wu in straight sets. The match took 18 games to decide and Bublik prevailed 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and three minutes. Bublik hit 19 aces to three double faults in the match. He landed 76% of first serves in play and won 91% of first serve points (31/34). Bublik won 55% of second serve points (6/11) and did not face a break point in the match.

Bublik has lost just one set in the tournament, and that was in his opening match against Aleksandar Vukic. The Kazakh has won four titles. Three have been on the ATP Tour and one was at the Challenger level. Remarkably, none of the four titles were won on hard courts. Bublik, who is already inside the top 20, can rise even higher in the rankings.

Valentin Royer reached his first ATP final in Hangzhou. Royer’s dream week in China began in qualifying and then he won pretty much every main draw match as an underdog. His best win came in the round of 16 when he upset Andrey Rublev in straight sets. Royer backed up that win by taking out Next Gen star Learner Tien in three competitive sets.

Royer won an all-French semifinal against Corentin Moutet in straight sets. The match took 17 games to decide. Royer prevailed 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 28 minutes. In the victory, Royer hit two aces and one double fault. He landed 65% of first serves in play and won 71% of first serve points (24/34). Royer won 72% of second serve points (13/18) and saved both break points he faced in the match.

Alexander Bublik vs Valentin Royer Head-To-Head

Bublik and Royer have never played each other at any level.

Alexander Bublik vs Valentin Royer Prediction

I’m backing Bublik to win his fifth title. This is officially the Kazakh’s best-ever season on tour, with three titles already and one at Challenger level. Bublik has a wealth of experience at this stage, facing a first-time finalist like Royer, who will relish the challenge and cannot be counted out. But it’s an unfamiliar setting for the qualifier, and if Bublik can keep up his serving numbers at an extraordinarily high figure as he did in the semis, he will get his hands on yet another trophy.

Nur Said's Pick: Alexander Bublik in three sets
