She is a former champion in Charleston and has never lost before the quarterfinal in this tournament in her five previous appearances.

Sofia Kenin won two matches to reach the last 16 of the Charleston Open. She defeated Bernarda Pera in her opening match to set up a second-round showdown against former champion Belinda Bencic. Kenin proved too strong for the Swiss, toppling the 17th seed 6-0, 6-3 in 84 minutes. In the victory, Kenin hit 23 winners and 13 unforced errors, including five aces and three double faults.

Daria Kasatkina vs Sofia Kenin Prediction
This is a very interesting rivalry that is evenly poised, and considering that they will meet for the first time on clay courts, it only adds a bit of intrigue. I like Kasatkina though. She's a tactician on this surface, with a fine blend of controlled aggression and defensive skills, and the green clay of Charleston is a perfect court profile for her. The record speaks for itself, with a title win in 2017 and a runner-up finish last season. She's also not lost before the quarters. So, Kenin, despite her stunning upset over Bencic, will be the underdog, and I agree with this line.
Nur’s Pick Daria Kasatkina in three sets
