Casper Ruud and Francisco Cerundolo clash in the fourth round of the 2025 ATP Miami Open on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Here's our Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction. This preview will also include a Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo pick.

Casper Ruud Preview

Casper Ruud is coming off a straight sets win over 30th seed Alejandro Tabilo. The match took 23 games to decide. Ruud prevailed 6-4, 7-6 in an hour and 36 minutes.

In the victory, Ruud hit 33 winners and 24 unforced errors. That tally included 11 aces and two unforced errors. Ruud landed 63% of first serves in play and won 87% of first serve points (34/39). The Norwegian won 74% of second serve points (17/23) and saved all three break points he faced.

Ruud compiled 32% of return points (24/74) and converted one of four break points on Tabilo's serve. This was Ruud's 12th win from 15 matches this season. He hasn't yet lifted a title but was a runner-up in Dallas last month.

Ruud also accounted for a win over Miomir Kecmanovic in his opening match in Miami. He hasn't been to the quarterfinal in this tournament since 2022 when he reached the final.

Francisco Cerundolo Preview

Francisco Cerundolo is coming off a big win over American 12th seed Tommy Paul. Cerundolo prevailed 6-2, 7-6 in 92 minutes to reach the last 16 in Miami for only the third time. The man from Argentina hit 15 winners and 11 unforced errors including one ace and two double faults.

Cerundolo landed 75% of first serves in play and won 64% of first serve points (28/44). The 23rd seed won 67% of second serve points (10/15) but could not save any of the three break points faced. Cerundolo compiled 49% of return points (30/61) and broke Paul five times in the match.

This was Cerundolo's 15th win from 21 matches this season. He was a runner-up in Buenos Aires and has reached at least the quarterfinals in each of his last three tournaments.

Cerundolo was a semifinalist in Miami three years ago but hasn't reached the quarters since 2023.

Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo Head-To-Head

• Ruud and Cerundolo have met seven times on the ATP Tour.

• Cerundolo leads Ruud 4-3 in the head-to-head.

• Cerundolo won their last meeting at the 2024 Laver Cup.

Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction

This should be tight and the oddsmakers think so, but I'm leaning toward Cerundolo here. He's coming off a mammoth win over Tommy Paul in which he committed just 11 unforced errors. Ruud is a superior defender no doubt, but Cerundolo brings so much attacking threat and this court rewards players who have a penchant to take risks.

Nur’s Pick Francisco Cerundolo in three sets
