Mirra Andreeva and Elena Rybakina meet in the fourth round of the 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Here's our Mirra Andreeva vs Elena Rybakina prediction. This article will also include a Mirra Andreeva vs Elena Rybakina pick.
Mirra Andreeva Preview
Mirra Andreeva reached the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open for the first time. The young Russian thumped Denmark's Clara Tauson 6-3, 6-0 in the third round.
In the victory, which was sealed in 64 minutes, Andreeva hit 19 winners and 13 unforced errors. That tally included three aces and one double fault. Andreeva landed 66% of first serves in play and won 76% of first serve points (19/25).
The 17-year-old won 71% of second serve points (10/14) and did not face a break point on her serve. Andreeva compiled 54% of return points (26/48) and converted five of nine break points in the match.
It is the second time Andreeva has beaten Tauson this season (also beat her to win the Dubai title last month). Andreeva has now won 15 of 18 matches this season. She is on an eight-match winning streak on Tour.
Elena Rybakina Preview
Elena Rybakina is coming off a very convincing win over 25th seed Katie Bouter. The former Indian Wells champion took 77 minutes to swat aside Boulter in two sets. The match took 18 games to decide.
In the victory, Rybakina hit 22 winners and 16 unforced errors. That included six aces and two double faults. Rybakina landed 67% of first serves in play and won 85% of first serve points (28/33). She won 50% of second serve points (8/16) and only faced one break point on her server.
The Kazakh won 47% of return points (28/59) and broke Boulter five times. Rybakina is through to the fourth round in Indian Wells for the third time in her career. She has not lost at this stage in her previous two, reaching the quarterfinals three years ago and winning the title in 2023.
Rybakina has won 15 of 20 matches this season. She has five of her last six. Her only defeat at that time was to Andreeva in Dubai.
Mirra Andreeva vs Elena Rybakina Head-To-Head
• Andreeva and Rybakina have played twice at the WTA level.
• They have split their two meetings. Rybakina won at the 2023 China Open in three sets and Andreeva won their recent meeting in Dubai last month in three sets.
Mirra Andreeva vs Elena Rybakina Prediction
We have an absolute blockbuster in Indian Wells. No women's match in the fourth round will top this one for its hype and buildup, and most importantly its expected quality. Andreeva's development is far from complete, but she's making serious noise and her top-10 return is imminent after this tournament. Her tennis intelligence is right up there with the elite and she is maturing rapidly. Even with Rybakina's sheering pace of her serve and groundstrokes, she's unlikely to bully Andreeva in a baseline battle. The young Russian is a great retriever and if she can get the points to neutral in rallies over five shots, she's got a good chance of upsetting the former Wimbledon champion. I'm taking Andreeva outright.
