I thought Yastremska was going to struggle in this tournament because of the harsh, windy conditions and the way her game has almost zero margin for error, but she's proven plenty of people wrong with a couple of routine wins to reach the third round. This is unlikely to be an easy matchup for the Ukrainian.

Judging from Swiatek's tone and her recent on-court interview, she just couldn't wait to get to Indian Wells. This place feels like a real fortress for her opponents. And she started with a dominant win as she seeks her third title in the desert. We'll probably see something similar to their last encounter in Dubai, with Yastremska going toe-to-toe in the first set but eventually fading.
