But replicating those numbers in 2025 has been quite a challenge for Bonzi, who had a bright start in Australia, but then faded. He was a quarterfinalist in Adelaide and reached the third round of the Australian Open.

This will be Jenson Brooksby's third main draw appearance at the BNP Paribas Open. Brooksby's Indian Wells debut ended with a second-round defeat to Alexander Zverev.

On his second visit in 2022, he reached the last 16, after beating Karen Khachanov and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Brooksby suffered two wrist injuries which required surgery and was out of action for a considerable period.

It was precisely two years from his last tournament in 2023 until his return this year. At that time, he also served a suspension for missing three drug tests.

Brooksby has one win from five matches this year and last competed at the San Diego Challenger where he defeated Coleman Wong but lost to Ethan Quinn.

I don't agree with this line. Brooksby is marginally the favorite here, presumably due to his talent, potential, and past success. But the reality of the matter is that he hasn't been able to play regularly on tour for a long time. We're talking two years, having to recover from two wrist surgeries and simultaneously serving an 18-month suspension for missing three out-of-competition doping tests. That's enough time to mess up your form, rhythm, and all the confidence you built up for many years of winning at the top level, and not to forget the mindset. It is a massive challenge for Brooksby and with so much uncertainty in his game, I'm siding with Bonzi.
