McCartney Kessler is emerging as one of the players to watch on a weekly basis on the WTA Tour. That is because she’s been on a tear since her breakthrough run in Cleveland in August 2024.

Kessler lifted her first WTA title in her home tournament last summer and broke the world’s top 100 and she’s never left it. This season, she’s gone from strength to strength, getting her second WTA title in Hobart in January and is coming off a runner-up finish from Austin this past week (lost to Pegula).

As a result, she will be competing in her first Indian Wells main draw as a top 50 player. The 25-year-old is ranked 48th in the newly released rankings. Kessler has won 14 of 20 matches in 2025. She's also won six of her last eight matches.
