Next up for Linette was a trip to the Middle East where she competed in three tournaments. The Pole made the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 in Abu Dhabi and the round of 16 in Doha. She was knocked out in the first round in Dubai.

Linette's most recent tournament yielded another first-round exit at the WTA 500 in Merida. Overall, Linette has lost three ofher last four matches.

This will be her eighth main draw in Indian Wells and she doesn't have the best of records. Linette has never advanced beyond the second round at the desert.

If the American controls her firepower, she'll get this done in two close sets.
