Jelena Ostapenko and Amanda Anisimova meet in the final of the 2025 WTA Qatar Open in Doha on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Here's our Jelena Ostapenko vs Amanda Anisimova prediction. This preview will also include a Jelena Ostapenko vs Amanda Anisimova pick.
Jelena Ostapenko Preview
Jelena Ostapenko ended Iga Swiatek's 15-match winning streak in Doha to reach her second final at the Qatar Open. The Latvian crushed Swiatek 6-3, 6-1, and stayed a perfect 5-0 in the head-to-head.
It means there won't be a four-peat for the Pole. For Ostapenko, this was the closest thing to perfection as she steamrolled in the match that many people thought she would lose.
In the victory, Ostapenko hammered 31 winners and 15 unforced errors. That included four aces and four double faults.
Ostapenko landed 54% of first serves in play and won 69% of first serve points (18/26). She won 64% of second serve points (14/22) and saved two of three break points.
Ostapenko won 56% of return points (27/48) and broke Swiatek's serve five times in the match.
Ostapenko lost in the final of the 2016 Qatar Open to Carla Suarez Navarro.
Amanda Anisimova Preview
Amanda Anisimova's excellent run in Doha continued with another scintillating performance to end an opponent's strea.
Before the semifinal, Ekaterina Alexandrova had forged an eight-match winning run that included a title triumph at the WTA 500 in Linz. She had also knocked off World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka during the week.
But she hardly bothered Anisimova who cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 victory in 90 minutes. In the victory, Anisimova hit 25 winners and 39 unforced errors. That included four aces and two double faults.
Anisimova landed 70% of first serves in play and won 60% of first serve points (32/53). She won 61% of second serve points (14/23) and saved nine of 10 break points.
Anisimova won 45% of return points (29/64) and broke Alexandrova's serve four times in the match.
This will be Anisimova's second WTA 1000 final (lost her first one in Toronto to Jessica Pegula last August).

Jelena Ostapenko vs Amanda Anisimova Prediction
It's without a doubt one of the least expected finals when the draw came out a week or so ago. But it's clear that both Ostapenko and Anisimova stood head and shoulders above the much-fancied favorites as the tournament progressed.
Confidence won't be lacking here and we'll get great tennis. Ostapenko has lifted one title in the Middle East in the past (won Dubai 2022) but hasn't won a WTA 1000 in her career. For Anisimova, this is already her biggest career final, to go with her Toronto runner-up finish last summer. I'm going with Anisimova here. Her resurgence began to take shape in the second half of last season and has been pushing for a statement win since. This feels like an opportune moment for her and with a top 20 debut on the line, she'll be determined to achieve it.
